School

My little shy guy after I dropped him off at school.

IMG_1982

He sure knows how to pull at my heart strings...clinging and begging, "Stay momma, stay."
Ugh! When we drop Blake off at school before 8 he goes to the baby room (he usually says, "No baby room!") until his favorite, Miss Alex, gets there. The drop off is always so hard for me - I'm glad Rustin is usually the one who does it! I just wish I could peek in on him all day and see what he is doing, who he's playing with, what he's eating from his lunch, how he plays with others, how he goes peepee for his teachers, (and not for mom or dad!) how he sings songs, and see him take a nap. I hate missing all of that!
I feel very blessed that Blake didn't have to go to daycare as a baby...I would've been a wreck!

That being said...it's so comforting to know when Blake gets picked up in the evening he does not want to come home. That's a good sign, right?!! The drive home is filled with details of his day and all the fun he had with his friends and teachers. His report card always says he was cheerful and usually has a cute story about something Blake did or said. I have them all saved on our fridge...I just can't bare to throw them away.

This little man is growing up just too fast and I just cherish every minute of it!

Halloween

Church Halloween Carnival friends...Chase, Kaden, & Blake.

This year we hit up a couple neighbors for some candy.
I'm not too sure Blake was a fan of all the costumes and especially a mechanical zombie on
one of the driveways...but we did manage to have fun! He sure is one cute Buzz, huh!

Dell'Osso Farm 2013

October seems to have flown by...today we finally made it to Dell'Osso Farm to play.
Here's a recap of our day!

This year Blake loved the petting zoo!
Those poor animals were probably glad to see watch him leave though.
He chased them around for quite a while.

Blake brought along Chick Hicks & made sure all the animals got to see him!

Bedtime Routine

Rustin is king of bedtime routines. He's so fun at it...that Blake rarely lets me put him to bed. =[

The routine begins with a little exercise..usually Blake names the number of pushups they'll do Rus will do as he jumps on Rustin's back. After pushups and some running around or ring-around-the-rosie, they collect the toys he sleeps with...he's allowed two...it's usually the garbage truck & his "engine train" (and usually a couple matchbox cars...whichever are his favorite at the time.)

Then they head down the hall to brush. Blake is pretty good about brushing...Rus brushes right along side him, which really helps.

After brushing...it's story time. (This COULD go on for hours...Blake LOVES to read...but we cap it at about two-ish books.) Rustin is the best bedtime story reader around!! They laugh & laugh as Rustin reads...many times making up his own story to the pictures. It's no wonder why Blake prefers him over me!

Blake sleeps backwards in his bed...he has ever since he was a baby...I think it has do to with how he preferred to be held & how we'd laid him in the crib. Anyhow...it works.

After stories it's prayers, tickles on his face, and a surprise.
The surprise is Blake's favorite part...Rustin will grab some random toy/book/car/animal from under the bed, describe it in detail & let Blake guess what it is. He's a really good guesser!

I just love the sweet bond these two share.

Our Day

Blake likes LOVES the slides at the park.
This morning Blake & Rustin went for a little stroll...jammies and all.
His current favorite race car went along for a drive.
