g&g Stephenson Visit

Rustin's parents came for a few days for a fun visit!
Blake LOVED having a couple extra playmates around.

On Thursday, January 26th, we toured the Jelly Belly Factory. On the way there, grandma let Blake play with her phone...he was in heaven! During the tour, Blake got a kick out of the machines and robots that moved the beans. At one point we had to pry him away from watching a fork lift move pallets of sugar, "TrucK! TrucKK!"

In the gift shop we bought some Belly Flops - misshaped beans - and tried some jelly bean samples. Rustin let Blake eat a rotten egg bean, ewwwww! Poor Blake...Rustin got a little piece of it and said it was terrible.

The best part of the day by far was after we left the factory, we had given Blake a piece of bread to eat before we started back home. He dropped it and the seagulls swooped in. Once Blake saw them devour his bread he wanted to share more! It was so cute watching him try to give it to the birds. They weren't too sure about him...but when he threw pieces their way they sure liked it.

Back home, we met up with Uncle Mark and went out to eat a Applebee's! YUM YUM!

The next day...we went to the Bay Area to see some sites. We stopped at the Oakland Temple, toured the visitor center (where we watched a REALLY neat movie about families!) and enjoyed the sunset over the city. The temple was closed for cleaning...so we pretty much had the grounds to ourselves.

Blake was watching a couple doggies run by and stuck out his tongue!

Jumping for Jesus!

After the Temple, we took were headed to watch the Golden State Warriors play Oklahoma. On our way we stopped and the shadiest Wendy's everrrrr! We ordered, ate as fast as we could, and got out of there! Not sure if it was the smell of bodily wastes permeating the restaurant or the fact the food didn't taste like Wendy's food...it was just not right, but we ate it anyway! Yuck.

At the arena...from our nosebleed seats...Blake was mesmerized. I'm not sure if he could tell we were watching it live, because from where we were sitting the court looked smaller than our tv at home, but he was sure pretty interested! He especially loved the second half when the bam bam sticks came out with each Oklahoma free-throw.

It was already past his bedtime by the time the game started, but he was soooooo good! I had packed a bag full of snacks and toys, but he didn't even touch it! He was much too interested in the cheering and the basketball and playing with his new/old phone.

Today we had to say goodbye to grandma & grandpa...we are so happy they came to visit! It was a lot of fun to be with them. We can't wait to see them this summer at the family reunion! Woot woot!
